Welcome to TEENAGE!!!

Teenage years occur at ages 13 to 19. This is the stage where children experience physical and mental changes preparing them for adulthood. Developments are observed during this stage. It allows teenagers to think differently honing their mental capabilities. Teenagers can start to think about abstract knowledge and understand through critical thinking. It is also in this stage where reproductive organs develop making them capable of sexual reproduction. Females may now start to notice that they can bear a child. Teenagers experience surge of hormones which may let them feel love towards a significant other.

“Telling a teenager the facts of life is like giving a fish a bath.” Arnold H. Glasow
It is difficult to raise a teenager. Teenager experience the most crucial part in one’s life. It is like being in the middle of a bridge. You should leave your childhood dreams behind and face the adulthood challenges. You may use the learning you gained during childhood years but leave the childish stuff that might burden you once you reach adulthood. The quote above describes the feeling of being a teenager. As a parent, you tend to try to teach your teenage children on the twists and turns of life. But the real lesson is learned as soon as the teenagers experience what life is. You may give a bath to the fish but it will learn how to swim as soon as you place him in the sea. The teenagers are said to learn once they experience solving a problem in first hand.

Teenagers must feel comfortable dealing with things that are new to them. Being able to do this, guardians must let them know that they are there to support them in any way possible. As a guardian, it is important for you to hone their way of thinking. They must be pessimistic in life that they must not fear reaching the adulthood stage and facing real life challenges. Here are some ways on how to make you teenage kids feel special.

    • Know the teenagers feelings. Take into consideration their opinions and suggestions in certain matters in life. You may ask for them and correct some pieces of information that you think is not right. With this, communication between guardian and teenager will not be sacrificed. Healthy communication will leave a positive mark in the relationship.
    • Encourage them to do well. This involves encouraging them to study more to achieve high marks in school, letting them train for the better in co-curricular activities and teaching them life lessons which may make them a better person in the future. With this, they may learn valuable knowledge that they can apply once they reach the adulthood stage.
    • Test the leadership of your teenagers. Encourage your teenage kids to take chance in getting the responsibility in doing work in the organization or even just at the household. With this, you can test the abilities of your teenagers. If they fail, do not forget to commend them for trying. Failures will only make them stronger.

What Does The Teenage Life Brings You?

Being a teenager means more than being a sensitive person. You might have thought that your sensitivity towards everything is already the peak of the adolescence stage. The truth is, this sensitivity is just a part. When you are in your teenage years, you would certainly have the pride of feeling a grown-up already. You would think that you are already matured enough to handle your own life. Sometimes this is what makes you argue with your parents. They would meddle with your affairs, but you know that it isn’t necessary.

In this stage, you would know that your lives will be exciting and full of explorations. Most of you would expect to have freedom. By this time, you would have more than a thousand friends by hanging out with classmates, visiting the neighborhood, joining community organizations, being active in church, greeting the new faces, and most especially, the most dominant way—socializing through the internet. These activities would give you all the chances of getting a million friends and exploring the world ahead.

On the other hand, it is not merely these matters occupy the teenage life. In fact, there are more pressures, burdens, difficulties, tests and confusions you will undergo through. It is in this time that you start to worry about your future, your career, in particular. During this stage, you will be pressured by the people around you. The worst is when they got expectations on you. Moreover, at this time you would experience falling in love badly. Your attention will be divided without even noticing it—to your family life, your friends, your spiritual life, your studies, your extended school activities, and your love life. Can you imagine how full of pressure is that?

Teenage life is absolutely wonderful but somewhat stressful. After all, teenagers like you, should be wise enough in making your decisions since this stage passes only once. There is no playback.
